Job Purpose:
As an Operations Planner at our port terminal, you will play a critical role in planning and managing the efficient loading and unloading of bulk and container ships. Your responsibilities will include coordinating stevedoring activities, liaising with the engineering department to ensure the right equipment is available, and overseeing the transportation of cargo to and from internal and external storage facilities. The Operations Planner as well is responsible for ensuring an effective and accurate data recording, collection and analysis for all the ongoing activities in a timely manner.
Job Requirements:
- Logistics Planning:
- Responsible for setting initial planned parameters for all the ongoing project (stevedoring, transportation and, warehousing) on the company system.
- Develop comprehensive plans for the transport of cargo, including the scheduling and routing of movements to and from owned or rented warehouses.
- Supervise and Coordinate with Operations data admins for proper data recording within projects execution.
- Monitor the execution of operations plans, ensuring they adhere to scheduled timelines and operational standards. Follow up on all aspects of the cargo handling process to identify and resolve any issues.
- Coordinate with the engineering department to mobilize the necessary equipment for operations, ensuring optimal availability and functionality.
- Act as a liaison between various departments to ensure that all parties are on track with project timelines. Work closely with procurement, operations, and supply chain teams to synchronize activities.
- Data Management:
- Oversee the accurate and timely entry of operational data related to cargo movements, maintaining rigorous standards of data integrity and confidentiality.
- Responsible for data collection and management for all the ongoing operational activities.
- Responsible for generating the required reports and performance KPIs.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all operations comply with regulatory requirements and maintain high safety standards. Develop contingency plans to manage risks associated with ports operations.
- Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them. Ensure that all planning activities comply with company policies and regulations.
- Monitoring and Execution:
- Monitor the execution of operations plans, ensuring they adhere to scheduled timelines and operational standards.
- Follow up on all aspects of the cargo handling process to identify and resolve any issues.
