- Identify any variation request from the standards and codes and alert his/her manager
- Identify, collect and track the requested input data (and review these last ones) in relation with the
coordination team - Produce / update / optimize / provide support and expertise to the design documentation production related
to the documentation of his specific scope/responsibility. - Ensure compliance of the design with standards & codes, client requirements, suppliers’ data, taking into
consideration schedule constraints and manager objectives (for instance in terms of budget) - Until As-built are provided and Final Taking Over (FTO) signed, produce the data requested by the:
- Coordination department (i.e.: according to updates from civil, architectural, electromechanical, signaling…)
- Suppliers/manufacturer/sub-contractors
- Procurement department (MTO production, quantities survey, equipment: sizing/ selection/confirmation…)
- Construction site (providing all the requested design clarifications / clash corrective solutions…)
- Follow-up his/her design until final approval by the client/consultant
- Provide the technical feedback to client/consultant technical comments according to requirements,
standards & codes. - Participate to internal and external meetings to present/defend his/her designed solutions
- Can produce the as-built drawings
- Can participate to the FAT related to the equipment he/she designed
- Actively participate (CRE only) to quality controls under the supervision of the QHSE department;
- Site visits and T&C follow up is such important to designers that the following activities are mandatory;
- Inspect the installation activities: responsible for ensuring that the site activities are implemented according
to the project specification and drawings - Conduct the required tasks to ensure that the equipment is fulfilling the required properties
- Material Inspection stages:
- Documents: inspect the supplier documentation to ensure the supplier will provide a material that meets quality standards
- FAT: check that the factory is suitable to manufacture the required material and follow his documents in terms of quality
- Material Inspection: perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping
- Test Inspection stages: participle to relevant T&C activities to record the test results
The main objectives of the interface designers, applied to internal and external to Colas Rail interfaces, are to: - Update the interfaces matrix and lists of interfaces of all the concerned subsystems (PS, HVAC, CC, Track,
- civil, signaling…)
- Work closely with the different subsystems in order to initiate and update all Interfaces sheets covering the
- following aspects: contractual / design / equipment supply / construction / Test & Commissioning (T&C)
- Draft interfaces sheets between the different subsystems
- When requested, participate to interface meeting with the partners and/or client
- Report & alert the interfaces manager in case of interfaces conflicts between the different subsystems.
- Analyze/track the client requirements (including tender technical document) and ensure the proposed
design is compliant (propose corrective/innovative solutions if needed) - When identified, propose innovation
- Report his/her activities (progress, variations, technical issues…) to his/her manager
- Alert in case of risk identification (schedule, design, equipment…)
